Two recent WDT articles confuse us (above).  During the November 24 th Jefferson County Planning and Development Committee meeting it was clearly explained by Committee Chairman Ormsby that the Finance and Rules Committee (Legislator Scott Gray Chairman) would then deliberate before providing a recommendation to the BOL.  Possibly we missed the F&R vote, but the attached articles indicate the process being used bypasses the normal procedure, the procedure described at the Public Meeting. 

Questions the Coalition posed to Legislator Ormsby:

• Is there a special procedure being used to accelerate this bill, or did we just miss the F&R Vote/Recommendation? 
• If it is a special procedure does the By-laws/Procedure Process allow for this variance from the norm? 

This is a large investment by the taxpayers, and quite honestly many questions still are unanswered regarding agreements, guarantees, and economic losses to the County and Townships.  The NYSDEC has not even approved the project Environmental Impact Statement, and the PSC is requiring Upstate NY Power to re-evaluate their transmission line routing, which was not adequately proposed.

Please also attend the Hounsfield Planning Board meeting on Dec 21 st at 10am at the Fire Hall to again restate the various open issues not adequately resolved.
